Who cares that it is synonymous with stupid?

um... it isn't synonymous in the dictionary, but I was just wondering your opinion since I saw this bulletin or discussion thread about people making a big deal about gays not having rights and stuff.

gay has two meanings in the south: happy (the old meaning) and homosexual (new meaning).
and meh to gays and their "rights".

I knew someone who used 'pants' to mean stupid. Which I thought was rather silly, as pants in the form of underwear are a good thing; pants in the american usage, meaning trousers, are often less stupid than many skirts; and pants as a verb, can either be good or not depending on why the subject is panting. Although I suppose panting for no reason at all could be considered to be stupid.

Anyway, yes, using the word gay to mean stupid is rather silly.

and awesome for the beeb theyre really coming through with the whole non PC thing, we need more satyrical shows. notably they were allowed to say nigger on mock the week which gave me no end of amusement.

As in, whether something is worth thinking about, or not, is up to many different factors, which form a list too long for me to mention here, given my current concentration span. I think.

That's because the human brain usually only reads the beginning and end of a word before they figure out what it is.

Which is why proofreaders sometimes read books upside-down - to force their brain to concentrate on the entire  word.

There was a case a while ago of a person having twin girls, with one white and one black. Generally mixed race children end up somewhat in the middle, though.

in the case where one child was while and the other white, I'm going to guess that both parents were (sand till are) black.  however, they both are carriers of the recessive "white" gene.
