edit on the formula:

gold stolen per turn = (opposing_army_size / army_size ) * (gold_on_hand + total_armoury_value) * 40% * randomfactor / 625

note the ratio of the two army sizes taken into account with this one (still probably imperfect)
the above will now explain why you tend to get less money when the opponent's army is smaller than you


if you're going to sab someone, just do the defenses first, then attack, and then finish his attack off
that way you'd still get more money and still leave him severely weakened

actually, the amount of soldiers matter a lot in this age, even more so than Age 1... (although army size affected directly in your ranking in Age 1)
and this fact is one of the many reasons why so many people are resorting to link-trading, and the main reason being that link-trading is the only remaining option to raise soldiers fast and easily, and thus gold per turn

don't remember if there actually was a formula yet for how much you can steal...
but anywho:
if the formula's like Age 1, it's basically along the lines of:

gold stolen per turn = (gold_on_hand + total_armoury_value) * 40% * randomfactor / 625

the randomfactor is the number that affects what kind of damage you actually do, so in a way, yes, your damage WILL affect how much you will steal, but the idea of "closer your damage is to the opponent's damage is" is more of a myth than anything else

that formula explains why you'd generally take the most money on your first attack (you're counting in the WHOLE money), while on subsequent attacks, the opponent has less money from which you can take
that formula also tells you NOT to sabotage someone to 0/0, because that will completely reduce that person's total armoury value...

(btw, that last 625 part came right off the top of my head, don't take my word for the formula, and especially not that part)

Not fair that elves are the ones that get really screwed over, while the other races aren't as influenced (elves DEPEND on CA and sabotage)

you know, i want KoC to STAY down instead of fekkin leaving the site up and messing us all up the other hole...
i'd rather not see my gold pile up and get attacked by newbies while i can't even BUY the weapons when i'm actually around to check the sites because of the database errors...

just leave a "The site is down for maintenance" and keep me from all these problems...

oh, and i've been noticing a number of pop-ups while going around the KoC site...

call me crazy, but i'd rather have my spies die an honorable death on a valuable mission rather than a stupid recon...

at least one of the admins played the game as of Age 1... no idea if he's still playing in Age 2
and don't give ideas for age 3 when there's still problems in this one, besides, you can't expect them to keep the deadline they gave anyway as said earlier.

p.s.... what is the maximom num o' spies you can send on some1?
Number of things possible:
1. You don't have enough spy levels.
2. The opponent has too high a CA (high number of spies and/or high spy levels).
3. You sent in too many spies.
4. You got quite some lousy luck.
5. You're trying to sabotage too many weapons at the same time.
6. You're trying to sabotage too high-level a weapon.

You can send in as many spies as you want, if you're stupid enough to send them on suicide missions...

well, my two cents:
1. as mentioned already, there's plenty of people playing the game.  making the images cached will certainly lessen the bandwidth usage, but only to a certain degree.
2. what's the use of a few hundred people doing this compared to the thousands that don't even check the forums?

otherwise, you don't particularly need any special program/new stuff to download to do something like that(as mentioned in that post of yours in GUA)...
like i said, idon't think it's all too important (VERY small fraction of the players ever check the forums)

untrained mercenaries are good for siege fodder.
first to die, in ANY combat.
I don't think they even get the weapons before your general soldiers do... but i haven't gotten enough weapons to test that

now, at my current rate, at 46850gold per turn, i'd need 188 turns or roughly 4 days for SpyLv.10...

79 turns for stronghold...
20 turns for siege towers...
what to get what to get... XD
