R i g h t. I suppose George Bush is also a really good President, and can lead the US really well. He just chooses not to?

Quote
this aint school
And why should that make a difference? Do you even know what the purpose of school is? The point in education?

Quote
i right the way i talk
No you don't.
I'll prove it.

First, this is what you are attempting to say (http://www.hybridchill.com/misc/tbcorrect.wav).

Second, this is what you actually say (http://www.hybridchill.com/misc/tommyboy.wav).

Note the key differences - ie: the second one sounds like an idiot.

True. If only I could put it to more efficient use; I might've been crowned king of the world already. :(

Just as long as you make me warlord I'll support you.....but still you made a sound file for it. That is just extreme boredom right there. I have to stress that.

Well, what better way to prove that "im dumb becuase" is not correct, and to highlight his lack of punctuation, than to auralise his words?

They both sound like Stephen Hawking...(right? the guy that's super smart in physics or something; I don't quite remember)

But can you really tell when you need a  puncuation mark when you speak? besides in the second one it was just kind of the words in the first one being mixed around a bit. tommyboy's post are in a coherent fashion, in that the verbs and the subjects are in the correct places. Now I have to go take a cold shower because I never thought I would type words about grammer. *shudders*

They sound a little like him, yeah.

But can you really tell when you need a  puncuation mark when you speak?
Yes. When you pause, you need a punctuation mark; conversely, when you see a punctuation mark, you know you need to pause for a bit. Depending on the type of mark, you pause for a different length of time and reason. Again, when doing the reverse, you place an appropriate piece of punctuation depending on the length and type of pause. Knowing when to use a comma, a semi-colon, a full-stop (period) or other mark can be difficult, but there is no excuse for not putting some sort of punctuation in.
Better to try and fail, than not to try at all.

besides in the second one it was just kind of the words in the first one being mixed around a bit.
That was the case because the first one was the second one corrected.

If you ignore the awful spelling, then yes. But there's still the fact that he has absolutely no punctuation which causes you not to know when to pause which in a worse case scenario could mean that you don't pause and hold onto your breath waiting and pleading for the end of a sentence which is drawn out so far that your face starts to turn blue before the writer suddenly decides to put in some punctuation and let you breathe. You see?

yeah, but if your a bookworm like me then you kind of get a funk when a sentence should end.

Post by: darkstone331+1 on January 24, 2004, 03:37:00 AM
Just realized.... it would be cool to see someone faint because their holding their breath for a punctuation mark.

I have decent grammer and I am not smelly, so I take that as an insult.

I read them out loud in my head. If I read them in my mind then I'd have to stop my mind doing whatever it was doing, and that would be a waste of resources. :P

I find the opposite true, when you sound out a sentence out loud you understand it better.

Baka desu yo. Anata wa seigatsu o irimasu.
"seigatsu"?  sorry, but i don't remember of any such word

being trilingual(spanish, english, japanese) can result in spanglese:  You got un pequeno noumiso en la cabeza of yours, kusomushi.

i've been wondering, are you japanese, underruler? or learning(through a class, or just for fun)?

and back to the main topic of tommyboy:
i'm not an english major(thank god), but forums like these are meant for people to read.
the least anyone can do is type legible lines. (good thing these aren't done in individual handwriting, eesh nightmares)
that would mean, among other things: end lines when you're done with one idea and then start a new line, and use punctuations wherever appropriate.
i'd include "use capitalizations whenever appropriate", but that's a minor issue compared to the previous two.

Case in point -> Try reading the following, which is just a copy of the above but without absolutely no punctuations or new lines:

tommyboy wa kudamono tomoshimasu i think you meant to say to moushimasu Baka desu yo Anata wa seigatsu o irimasuseigatsu  sorry but i dont remember of any such word being trilingual spanish english japanese can result in spanglese You got un pequeno noumiso en la cabeza of yours kusomushi ive been wondering are you japanese underruler or learning through a class or just for fun and back to the main topic of tommyboy im not an english major thank god but forums like these are meant for people to read the least anyone can do is type legible lines good thing these arent done in individual handwriting eesh nightmares that would mean among other things end lines when youre done with one idea and then start a new line and use punctuations wherever appropriate id include use capitalizations whenever appropriate but thats a minor issue compared to the previous two [/size]

Gand I'm half Japanese(yonsei), and I'm learning.  to moushimasu...I don't know sensei just told us to use that one instead of saying desu.  She didn't spell it for us.  Btw...seigatsu  whoops I spelled it wrong.  seikatsu...life right... Gand don't say anything about my skills b/c I haven't had Japanese for a year(one set back to the block schedule).

When was the last time you saw a piece of fruit hump something? Its widely known that fruit cannot write, and therefore have no spelling aptitude. Under's comparison is more correct.

actually yesterday. it was really weird.  I was in the store(and very tired) and started to visualise sexual things happening. not quite hallucinating  i could still tell it wasnt really happening but i was in the produce area and it was bizarre. people were having sex in the bin of peanuts  LOL   and the pears  were getting a bit frisky. it was just  odd.
